Gotye Mulai Mendulang Sukses di Eropa dan Amerika

Nama Gotye agak asing ditelinga, penyanyi asal Belgia yang hijrah ke Australia ini awalnya sukses luar biasa di Australian Music Chart tahun 2011 lalu, rupanya angin mulai berhembus kencang hingga sukses juga di Eropa dari Belgia dan Belanda.

Bulan Februari-Maret ini sudah mulai berkibar cukup kencang hingga menjadi lagu No. 1 di UK Top Chart dengan debut tembangnya berjudul "Someone That I Used To Know". Musik indie-pop Australia ini juga sudah mulai masuk di US Top Twenty minggu ini meskipun belum mendapat kehormatan memimpin dikibaran musik setempat.

Lagu yang berirama berbeda dengan lagu pop pada umumnya ini sangat luar biasa. Gotye merupakan adaptasi dari Goultier dari Bahasa Perancis. Mungkin bahasa Perancis karena sepertiganya dipakai sebagai bahasa resmi oleh penduduk Belgia.

Selain itu nama Gotye juga sama punya persamaan dengan Walter dalam Bahasa Inggris. Namun nama asli Gotye adalah De Becker yang sebetulnya berbahasa  bilingual antara Inggris dan Flemish (Belgia-Belanda) atau orang Belgia yang berbahasa Belanda.
